Job summary

University of La Verne invites qualified students to join as Lab Teaching Assistants for Chemistry labs. TAs help the instructor ensure safe, smooth lab sessions and assist students in following proper techniques. The role requires proactive lab conduct and adherence to safety rules, including PPE usage.

Selected students must be enrolled at ULV and commit to Fall and Spring semesters for about 10 hours per week, with on-campus duties starting in August 2026.

Qualifications

• Must be a current University of La Verne student.
• Must attend weekly lab meetings.
• Commit to Fall and Spring semesters for ~10 hours/week.
• Successful completion of CHEM 201/202 with B- or better.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor in lab operations and proper functioning of the lab during sessions.
• Model proper laboratory safety at all times (PPE: lab coats, goggles, appropriate clothing/shoes).
• Support students in following techniques and safety rules during experiments.
• Participate in trainings before Fall 2026 lab sessions.
