Job summary

North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics seeks a Lab Manager to oversee Chemistry laboratories, manage equipment, and maintain inventories. This permanent SHRA, 1.0 FTE position requires on-site presence in Durham and collaboration with the Chemistry Chair and Dean of Science.

The role includes training high school students in lab safety, supporting student research, and coordinating with Biology labs and campus events. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: High School and two years of directly related experience or equivalent combination.
• Maintenance of inventory and handling of lab equipment.
• Train high school students in basic lab safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Management of Chemistry Laboratories (60%).
• Support of Biology Laboratories (10%).
• Supervision of Campus Service Students (10%).
• Support for Student Research (10%).
• Support for Special Events (5%).
• Other duties as assigned (5%).
