Job summary

Bucknell University's Department of Chemistry seeks a Chemistry Supplies Coordinator to manage purchasing, stock control and distribution of department items. The role involves coordinating with procurement, maintaining inventories, scheduling equipment maintenance, and ensuring safe laboratory operations in an on-campus environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field required.
• Experience with stockroom or inventory management preferred.
• Proficiency with standard computer software.
• Ability to work with a diverse community of faculty, staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Researches and purchases items needed for the department, coordinates with procurement and vendors to receive and distribute inventory.
• Completes reports to track stockroom expenditures.
• Schedules preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment to keep it operational.
• Monitors stockroom and chemical inventories and interfaces with a chemical database.
• May recruit, hire, train and supervise student workers as needed.
• Liaisons with EHS and the Safety Committee and ensures safety information and proper disposal of chemical waste.
