Clemson University, College of Science, Department of Chemistry, invites applications for a Lecturer and Coordinator of the General Chemistry Laboratory (CH 1011, CH 1021) at Hunter Hall. The role oversees weekly lab operations, coordinates and trains TAs, and supports the teaching mission.

The instructor will devise experiments, align lab with lectures, and ensure safety while collaborating with staff to maintain an engaging, safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry. Laboratory teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee weekly lab operations and coordinate with and train TAs to conduct weekly experiments.
• Oversee course grading and manage student interactions.
• Ensure safe and functional weekly lab operations with stockroom staff.
• Align lab activities with lectures and collaborate with lab coordinators to ensure overlap with lecture coverage.
• Devise and revise laboratory experiments with emphasis on green chemistry and student engagement.
