The Position

The Lab Assistant will perform basic laboratory duties primarily involved with maintaining the cleanliness of the company’s chemical laboratories, equipment and maintaining stock levels of inventory. This is a parttime, temporary role ending in August 2025.

• Hours: part-time 24 hours a week (3 days/week; 8-hour shifts)

Responsibilities

• Maintains glassware for the laboratory;
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of work areas;
• Removes waste from the laboratory and places it in designated locations;
• Prepares solutions and chemical reagents;
• Maintains stocks of laboratory supplies and material and maintains appropriate records;
• Follows safety procedures for chemical handling, as appropriate;
• Requires considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials;
• Follow established SOPs and respond to laboratory staffs requests with minimal supervision;
• Other lab support duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a high school diploma
• Ability to closely follow instructions
• Ability to clearly and precisely document reagent preps in laboratory notebook
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Employee occasionally will be required to lift, generally no more than 25 pounds.
• Will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (lab coat, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves).

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a laboratory setting

$20 — $21 USD
