Job summary

The Perryman Company is seeking a motivated summer intern to join our chemistry lab in 2027, located in Coal Center, PA. You will assist in projects in the laboratory at our titanium melt facility and support the certification of reference materials.

Responsibilities include sample preparation, analyses using XRF, Spark AOES, and ICP, recording results, and creating technical reports. Collaboration with lab staff and outside labs is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Chemistry.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
• Comfortable working with strong mineral acids, milling machines, hot saws and shears.

Responsibilities

• Assist in certifying new reference materials.
• Analyze samples per ASTM, ISO, or Perryman specifications.
• Prepare samples and analyze titanium alloys using XRF, Spark AES and ICP.
• Record results, perform statistics, and create technical reports.
• Work with outside laboratories to assist in certification.
• Work as an individual or in a team in a laboratory.
• Be an active participant in the chemistry laboratory and interact with technicians.
