Job summary

Columbia State Community College is seeking a Part-Time Chemistry Instructor and Chemistry Lab Facilitator for the Williamson Campus, with day classes. Faculty may teach up to nine credit hours per semester across multiple campuses, including Columbia, Williamson, and others.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry (or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry (or a related field with a minimum of 18 semester hours in Chemistry).

Responsibilities

• Preparing for courses as assigned and adhering to departmental course syllabi and course minimum student learning outcomes.
• Beginning and ending all classes as schedules.
• Organizing, assigning, and supervising learning activities of students in his/her classes.
• Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning.
• Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores in a timely manner.
• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and grades.
• Reading Columbia State email and responding to student questions via email in a timely manner.
• Meeting deadlines for administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork and student enrollment.
