Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks an Instructor of Chemistry to deliver quality instruction across multiple formats, participate in assessment of outcomes, and support college mission through service activities. The role involves teaching 15 credit hours and 28–32 credit hours across Fall and Spring, including evening/weekend/distance courses.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in the teaching discipline (or Master’s plus 18 graduate hours).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Collegiate-level teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to teach in multiple formats including online and hybrid.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality instruction in multiple formats and assess student learning and course outcomes.
• Teach 15 semester credit hours per week with additional office hours as defined by policy.
• Teach 28-32 semester credit hours across Fall and Spring terms.
• Create a supportive learning environment for students.
