Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is seeking an Instructional Lab Technician II - Chemistry to oversee the chemistry instructional laboratory, prepare equipment and reagents, and ensure safe operation for class demonstrations and experiments. This is a full-time, 12-month position at Oxnard College with a districtwide scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry and two years of work experience in a related field, preferably in an instructional setting.
• Experience in laboratory operations and safety practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, reagents, chemicals for demonstrations and experiments.
• Order, inspect, and inventory lab materials and equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe labs and supervise proper use of facilities.
• Prepare stock solutions and reagents; manage chemical storage and disposal.
• Assist in budget planning and monitor expenditures.
• Train and supervise student workers.
• Operate laboratory instruments and perform minor repairs.
