Job summary

University of Michigan-Flint is seeking a part-time Instructional Aide for CHM 260 to support grading, preparation, and student academic help. The IA will assist the instructor, answer questions, and help with course administration while remaining non-instructional in role.

Position requires current UM-Flint student or recent graduate, with CHM 260 completed with an A. Strong chemistry understanding and communication skills are essential for helping students grasp concepts and maintain

Qualifications

Must be a current UM-Flint undergraduate student or a recent graduate and not enrolled in a UM-Flint graduate program.
Successfully completed CHM 260 (or an equivalent General Chemistry I course) with a final grade of A
Strong understanding of introductory chemistry concepts.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and work effectively with students.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling student information.

Responsibilities

Assist the instructor with grading assignments, quizzes, exams, and other course assessments.
Provide student support by answering questions and clarifying coursework.
Assist in preparing and organizing materials, including printing handouts for the instructor.
Support course administration by helping manage course communications and other tasks as assigned.
