Job summary

Tompkins Cortland Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Teaching Faculty—Chemistry. The position supports CHEM 101 and CHEM 107, with courses taught day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex formats.

Spring 2027 dates run 01/25/2027–05/17/2027, and appointments are non-renewable on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in chemistry (or related field with 18 graduate credits in chemistry) and has experience delivering synchronous and asynchronous online

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in chemistry is required or a related field; 18 graduate credits in chemistry are required for related degrees.
Demonstrated experience instructing or training in multiple synchronous/asynchronous online formats; experience hosting Teams/Zoom and managing lab activities is essential.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent teaching and instruction.
Create, submit, and follow a syllabus aligned with the Master Course Syllabus.
Use the Learning Management System to provide course materials to students.
Be available to students through office hours, timely grading, and responsive communication.
Read and abide by the Teaching Manual.
Submit all records by deadlines, including progress reports and grades.
Understand and enact Tompkins Cortland Community College’s mission and inclusion plan.
