Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) invites adjunct instructors to teach and develop a variety of Chemistry courses, including general, organic and biological chemistry, and dual enrollment Chemistry at LTCC. Teaching may occur day, evening, weekends, online, or in dual enrollment format at South Tahoe High School.

Assignments are based on departmental need and adjuncts must maintain home internet access to ensure regular contact with students.

Qualifications

• Master’s in chemistry is required.
• Bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry and a Master’s in a related field is acceptable.
• Equivalencies to the stated qualifications will be considered.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds is required.

Responsabilités

• Teach assigned courses in the Chemical Sciences discipline.
• Provide instruction for in-class or online/distance education activities.
• Maintain currency in subjects taught and evaluate student work.
• Submit attendance rosters and grade reports when due.
• Follow course outlines filed in the instruction offices.
• Enforce district regulations, policies, and programs.
• Provide students with a written course syllabus at course start.
• Refer students to college resources for counseling and services.
• Advise students on requirements for success in the field.
• Maintain an effective classroom environment and cooperate with the college community.
• Foster a harassment-free, respectful learning environment.
• Demonstrate respect for the dignity of everyone.
