Job summary

Sapphire Americas, a CRH company and part of the Ash Grove family, seeks a Laboratory Analyst to analyze hazardous and nonhazardous waste samples under WAP/FAP. You will work under the Shift Supervisor or Laboratory Manager to ensure accurate analyses while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Read, understand warning labels, instructions and signs.
• Minimum 2-yearAssociate's degree required.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Observe safety rules including the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
• Use safety equipment such as respirators, goggles, protective clothing.
• Read and become familiar with Waste Analysis Plan and Quality Manual.
• Sample solid and liquid fuel shipments as needed.
• Ensure timely, thorough, cost-effective and accurate analysis per WAP requirements.
• Notify supervisor if problems arise.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of lab areas and work space.
• Perform duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager to ensure accurate analyses.
• Monitor laboratory supply inventory and alert purchasing when low.
• Complete chain-of-custody forms as necessary.
• Attend required training classes.
• Demonstrate cooperation and assist with unassigned tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
