Job summary

Innophos in Utah North Salt Lake is seeking a Chemist II to own day-to-day analytical operations, lead method development and validation, and keep HPLC, GC, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, UV-Vis and FTIR instrumentation in peak condition. You'll investigate OOS/OOT, support CAPA, mentor junior staff, and ensure ISO 17025 compliance while driving safety and continuous improvement across the lab.

The role combines hands-on bench work with mentoring, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
• 5+ years in a chemical lab with hands-on experience in analytical methods and instrumentation (HPLC, GC, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, UV-Vis, FTIR).
• Experience with method validation/verification and CAPA.
• ISO 17025 compliance and regulatory knowledge.
• Strong data analysis, MS Office, LIMS, and lab data systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform and develop chemical analyses on materials and products with high accuracy.
• Document data, prepare reports, maintain lab records, and present findings with recommendations.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation for peak performance.
• Lead nonconformance investigations and CAPA implementation.
• Lead method development, validation, and verification activities.
• Draft and update lab SOPs, protocols, and procedures.
• Support ISO 17025 audits and regulatory compliance.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
• Support continuous improvement projects within quality management.
• Promote safe lab practices and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
