Materials Science Company in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Chemist II with 3+ years in industrial labs, focusing on wet chemistry, titration, ICP, and IC techniques. You will support QA/R&D programs, perform extensive sample preparation, and maintain instrument calibration and documentation.

Qualifications

• BA/BS chemistry degree with 3+ years industrial laboratory expertise in Titration, experience in Inductively Coupled Plasma and Ion Chromatography, other general laboratory techniques
• 3+ years of sample preparation experience in a QA/ R&D setting with a focus on meticulous preparation of stock solutions and standards, dilutions and pipetting accuracy
• The candidate will be responsible for providing critical testing support for several core companymanufacturing and R&D product platforms
• This analytical laboratory role will involve routine significant sample prep and analysis, chemical inventory/disposal as well as standard instrument calibration and maintenance
• The candidate will be detail-oriented with good communication and excellent problem-solving skills, proficient in MS Office Suite, able to work quickly/effectively as directed, capable of adapting to dynamic timelines/priorities and willing to learn new instrument operating systems and techniques as needed
• Experience with basic chemical laboratory techniques plus excellent organizational and project/time management skills are key
• Responsibilities will include hands‑on sample preparation and analysis across several analytical techniques

Responsibilities

• Execute wet chemistry techniques focusing on Titrations, support Inductively Coupled Plasma and Ion Chromatography, including sample preparation, data analysis and use of Metrohm software
• Maintain solvent and mobile phases, ensuring consistency and quality
• High-volume of sample, stock standard and solution preparation with precision (molarity, normality, and dilutions)
• Document preparation and experimental parameters accurately, following written procedures (test methods, SOPs) utilizing LIMS systems for documentation and data management
• Create written procedures, reports, and documentation

• Pay rate: $24—31/Hr. (Based on Experience)

Duties

• Works with moderate work direction and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving.
• Worker to assume responsibility for performing defined technical activities for R&D and material testing on a program basis.
• Usually reports to a senior technical individual.
• Duties and responsibilities may include initiating and completing technical activities leading to new or improved test methods.
• Establish and cultivate a network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.
• Participate in R&D and possible test method development and document experimental data/observations in approved electronic formats, and future potential to prepare reports.
