Job summary

Viltis is seeking a Technical Manufacturing Chemist I in Scarborough, ME to support production of bioreagents and diagnostic products. You will test materials, ensure quality, and help maintain GMP/GLP standards in a fast-paced lab setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to protocols, and contribution to process improvements while supporting the production schedule and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with pipettes, spectrophotometry, HPLC, pH meters, gel electrophoresis, SDS PAGE, and ELISA assays.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, manufacturing, and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the production schedule.
• Investigate problem areas and identify improvements.
• Undertake new procedures and observe proper safety precautions.
• Perform in-process QC testing of manufacturing materials.
• Maintain quality systems and GMP/GLP standards.
• Create and follow protocols for product improvement.
• Produce bioreagents for manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate manufacturing efforts within a team.
• Maintain raw bioreagent supply as needed.
