Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a Chemist to perform analysis of client samples using thermal, mechanical, and microscopic methods. You will set up and calibrate instruments, prepare samples, acquire data, and report results in GMP-compliant formats.

Responsibilities include maintaining notebooks, performing instrument maintenance, and contributing to method development. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry and 2–4 years of related experience are required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
• 2–4 years of experience in a related laboratory field; GMP/cGMP environment experience preferred.
• Experience in ISO/IEC 17025 and/or cGMP environments is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of client samples using thermal, mechanical, and microscopic methods and instruments.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain instruments; prepare samples; acquire and report data in GMP formats.
• Create and maintain lab notebooks and electronic records according to GMPs.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation including routine maintenance, calibration, verification, and troubleshooting.
• Develop or optimize analytical methods as required.
