Job summary

Connect Life Sciences seeks a Chemist to advance synthesis of small molecules using state-of-the-art organic and metal chemistry. You will monitor synthesis purity and by-products with NMR and LC-MS and document data for the team.

The role requires a BS or MS in chemistry with 1–3+ years in synthesis, excellent communication, and a drive to contribute to drug discovery in a dynamic, goal-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in chemistry or related field; 1–3+ years in synthesis-related work.
• Strong knowledge of organic chemistry and synthesis methods.
• Experience with LC-MS-based monitoring;
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Interest in drug discovery and development processes.
• Ability to work on-site in a collaborative team.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• BS or MS in chemistry or related field is required, with 1-3+ years of academic or industry experience related to synthetic organic chemistry, synthetic methodology development, or process chemistry.
• Laboratory experience, including proficiency with fundamental chemistry lab methods, is required.
• Strong organic chemistry knowledge and experience LC-MS-based instrumentation.
• Creativity, resourcefulness, and an ability to adhere to deadlines and commitments.
• An interest and desire to learn more about the drug discovery and development process.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and a personality of risk-taking, positivity, leadership, adaptability, adventurousness, and excitement to build a pioneering company and work in a dynamic, goal- and performance-oriented team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize AI tools for day-to-day work; baseline proficiency is expected, and advanced or innovative use of AI is a strong plus
