Position Summary
Parker Lord Assembly and Protection Solutions (APS) Division is seeking an experienced chemical professional for an Inside Technical Support Representative position. This role will provide intermediate to advanced commercial and technical support for automotive, industrial, and electronics assembly customers, qualify leads with product guidance, and generate sales opportunities for the external sales team and distribution channels.
Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate to advanced chemical technical support by managing inbound customer inquiries (phone, email, and live chat) through to full resolution.
- Triage and route Parker Lord-wide contacts to the appropriate resources to ensure timely, accurate support.
- Guide customers to relevant tools and resources on Parker.com to support product selection and appropriate solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical and application expertise by learning Parker Lord chemical product lines and industry‑specific tools to answer product questions and make recommendations.
- Log, manage, vet, qualify, track, advance targets and leads in Salesforce, while partnering with Sales and Business Development Teams to convert qualified leads into pipeline opportunities.
- Participate in outbound lead‑generation campaigns, including trade shows and targeted Marketing initiatives.
- Represent the Parker Lord brand and Technical Support mission by responding professionally, promptly and applying sound judgment to maximize the value and impact of each customer interaction.
- Demonstrate leadership in assigned market leads by:
- Providing intermediate and advanced technical and commercial support
- Assist in managing team resources including FAQs, Tribal Knowledge, and technical information for different markets.
- Functioning as the Technical Support point‑of‑contact and assist Sales, Marketing, and other internal Parker Lord groups on projects.
- Building relationships with Scientists, Sales, Customer Service, Product Management, Business Development and Market Managers to facilitate product support and recommendations.
- Building relationships with customers by providing responsive and credible information by:
- Reinforcing the Parker Lord brand for quality service, product selection, and responsiveness in supporting customer's needs.
Qualifications
- Education: B.S. or B.A. degree in business, chemistry, or related field
- Work Experience: Prior customer‑facing role or experience in a chemical technical position or Inside Sales.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone and email skills.
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to work in a team environment, cultivate strong internal and external customer relationships.
- Strong technical aptitude, including analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into viable technical solutions.
- Strong computer proficiency and desktop skills.
- Minimal travel (<5%)
Preferred
- Knowledge of Lord Corporation's product lines and emerging technologies/business development initiatives with adhesives, electronic potting materials, and thermal management solutions.
- Knowledge of Parker Lord processes and procedures
- Experience using SAP/Salesforce
- Prior sales and/or chemical application engineering experience
