Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas is seeking a skilled technician to read blueprints, prepare tooling for stripping and coating processes, and ensure safety and quality standards in a dynamic shop environment.

You will operate stripping and thermal spray equipment, monitor processes, and document results while supporting a culture of safety and teamwork. This role requires physical effort and flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Basic math skills for operations using various units of measure.
• Ability to apply reasoning and solve problems in standardized situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in individual and small group settings.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work in environments with noise, moving parts, and chemicals.
• Availability to support extended hours or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and preset tools for stripping and coating operations and perform safety checks on equipment and chemical tanks.
• Load and unload parts into chemical tanks and monitor stripping processes.
• Mask parts using designated internal and external methods.
• Verify fixture setup meets specifications for dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Install, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and parts on machines.
• Operate equipment, load control media, and execute programmed instructions.
• Adjust machine controls and monitor operations to detect malfunctions and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Measure parts and adjust equipment to maintain conformance to blueprint requirements.
• Manually operate equipment when needed and troubleshoot process issues.
• Record operational data and maintain accurate documentation.
• Handle hazardous materials properly, including labeling, disposal, and spill containment.
• Participate in hazardous waste and safety training and notify appropriate personnel of new materials.
• Clean equipment, tools, and parts and perform preventative maintenance.
• Follow company safety policies and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Communicate effectively and support departmental and organizational goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
