Qualifications

• BS Chemical Engineering required with 3+ years experience as Process/Production Engineer/Leader in PSM chemical plants.
• Lean/Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
• Familiarity with unit operations and controls (reactors, distillation, polymerization, esterification, filtration, dryers).
• Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day production operations and troubleshoot process/equipment issues.
• Track production yields and perform mass balances.
• Lead process improvement projects and drive safety, productivity, quality and cost improvements.
• Support process downtime, planning, packaging, and material flow.

Job description

Our global chemical client is expanding their Chemical Process Team. This Process / Production Engineering role will have responsibility supporting plant unit operations, continuous improvements, process/ product startups, and all EHS/ PSM regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Involved in day to day production support for the batch/ continuous chemical operations including troubleshooting and problem solving of process / equipment issues.
• Track Production Yields and Perform Mass Balances
• Handle process improvement projects.
• Manages continuous improvements in safety, productivity, quality, reliability and cost.
• Support process downtime and runtime.
• Involved with production and material planning, packaging, shipping, and receiving.
• Participate in PSM initiatives and audits.
• Implement change management processes including MOC, PSSR, P&ID, hazard reviews, SOPs, SPC, SQC.
• Lead incident investigations and problem-solving sessions (safety, quality, production, reliability, etc.)
• Assist with Training of Operations Teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS Chemical Engineering degree with 3+ years experience as Process / Production Engineer/ Leader in PSM/ chemical operating plants.
• Preferred experience with Lean/ Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, PHA, MOC, P&IDs
• Familiar with process unit operations and Controls; reactors, distillation, polymerization, esterification, filtration, dryers, twin-screw extrusion, heat treatment.
• Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future.
