Job summary

ExxonMobil in Houston seeks a senior technical contributor to advance process development and scale-up through kinetic and phenomenological modeling. You will apply fundamentals-based modeling to guide screening and design of new process technologies across Upstream, Product Solutions, and Low Carbon Solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with experimentation, lab-scale work, and pilot plant studies, with emphasis on developing robust models and mentoring teams in reactor engineering

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field with thesis work.
• Experience developing multi-scale models of process units and reactor systems.
• Building, solving, and optimizing robust kinetic models with fundamental chemistry.
• Developing models from scratch using computational languages: gPROMS, MATLAB, Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply fit-for-purpose phenomenological models to guide screening, development and design of new process technologies.
• Apply strong background in reaction kinetics, heat and mass transfer for unit operations design.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including experimentation and equipment design to support design of experiments and scale-up.
• Develop and maintain advanced modeling capabilities for phenomenological and dynamic models.
• Serve as SME and mentor on kinetic and reactor modeling.
