Job summary

Fortune Personnel of Houston, Inc. is assisting a large chemical company in Texas to hire a Process Design Engineer for a cutting-edge manufacturing site.

The role focuses on designing and improving chemical processes, estimating costs, and supporting capital projects with detailed engineering deliverables. You will audit process areas, explore new technologies, mentor engineers, and contribute to project development and ECO/engineering calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Prefer 3 years experience in a process/operations engineering role in a chemical or petrochemical facility.
• Prefer minimum of 2 years experience with process design for capital projects.
• EPC experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Investigates process improvement ideas for the Operating areas.
• Audits process areas to recommend improvements.
• Estimates cost and justifies process improvements.
• Explores new processing technologies for potential applications and audits as per design scope.
• Takes a process scope and develops detailed process engineering design.
• Provides general project development and detailed engineering support.
• Handles scope modifications, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and simulations.
• Mentors other engineers to accelerate technical development and knowledge transfer.
• Executes assigned tasks independently and in a timely fashion.

Our client (large chemical company) is interested in hiring a Process Design Engineer at their cutting edge manufacturing site in Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigates process improvement ideas for the Operating areas.
• Ability to audit process areas to recommend possible process improvements.
• Ability to estimate cost and provide justification for possible process improvements.
• Explores newly developing and previously unidentified/unrecognized processing technologies for possible application within PNPP and Ability to audit process areas to recommend possible process improvements as per approved scope of design documents.
• Ability to take a process scope and develop detailed process engineering design i.e..
• General project development and detailed engineering support.
• Scope modifications, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, simulations, etc.
• Provides supplementary technical assistance for operating areas as necessary to expedite resolution of persistent, chronic operating problems / completion of high priority tasks.
• Aids in mentoring other engineers to accelerate technical development and knowledge transfer.
• Executes assigned tasks independently and in a timely fashion.

General Responsibilities:

• Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Assists other employees in accomplishment of company goals.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
• Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of specific experience.
• Prefer 3 years experience in a process/operations engineering role in a chemical or petrochemical facility.
• Prefer minimum of 2 years experience with process design for capital projects.
• EPC experience highly desired.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in Project Management software.
• Good knowledge of the capabilities and options for modeling, process simulation, and engineering software; AspenTech preferred.
• Good organizational skills, business acumen, and knowledge of project management and process design.
