Job summary

Michael Page US is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead process improvements in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment. You will drive efficiency, quality, and reliability, troubleshooting production challenges, and supporting new product commercialization.

Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and research teams; develop documentation, implement changes, analyze data, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (Chemical Eng. preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years in manufacturing, chemical processing, or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals incl. heat transfer, fluid flow, pumping, piping, and instrumentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and implementing operational improvements.
  • Knowledge of SPC and process capability analysis.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation, procedures, and operator training materials.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cross-department collaboration.
  • Data-driven decision making.
  • Experience reading P&IDs or technical schematics advantageous.
  • Exposure to GMP/regulatory environments or high-hazard operations preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable in a production environment and building relationships with operators and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and identify/implement solutions with plant personnel.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focusing on productivity, yield, safety, and cost reduction.
  • Develop, update, and maintain process documentation, procedures, and training materials.
  • Support new product launches and commercialization activities for smooth transfer to full-scale production.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and research teams to improve performance.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and control methods to monitor quality and process capability.
  • Investigate downtime events, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with management of change activities and document communications.
  • Evaluate manufacturing data and trends to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Promote safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities.
  • Participate in plant-based engineering projects and other operational initiatives as required.

Job Description

  • Troubleshoot production challenges and work directly with plant personnel to identify and implement solutions.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, yield, safety, and cost reduction.

  • Assist with management of change activities and ensure process modifications are appropriately communicated and documented.
  • Evaluate manufacturing data and operating trends to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Promote compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all operational activities.
  • Participate in plant-based engineering projects and other operational initiatives as required.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with Chemical Engineering preferred.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Experience reading process flow diagrams, P&IDs, or technical schematics is advantageous.
  • Exposure to continuous chemical processing, regulated manufacturing, GMP environments, or high-hazard operations is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working within a production environment and building strong relationships with operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
