Job summary

Cambrex - Charles City is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee operating personnel for safe, efficient, and profitable chemical manufacturing at the Charles City site. The role requires day-to-day manpower administration and close collaboration with all departments to ship quality products on schedule.

Shift work is required. The position emphasizes training, strict SOP compliance, and proactive problem solving to minimize waste and downtime while improving yields and equipment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the production area meets safety and quality requirements.
• Schedule operations to prevent delays and efficiently use manpower.
• Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures in all activities.
• Ensure employees are properly trained and evaluate performance.
• Carefully utilize buildings, equipment and services.
• Perform simple laboratory tests on in-process and waste samples to verify operation and equipment function.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Make recommendations to improve yields and reduce waste, labor, materials and costs.
• Investigate production issues and work with support groups to implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering during new product implementation.
• Participate in process evaluations with production superintendents or process engineers.
