Job summary

AdvanSix in Richmond, VA is seeking a manufacturing operator to control caprolactam processing steps from hydrolysis to drying, and to support utilities and safety procedures in a fast-paced facility. The role requires a high school diploma or technical degree, and 3+ years of manufacturing experience with comfort working rotating shifts. Proficiency with computers and ability to pass background/drug tests are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma/GED.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience or an Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical or science related field.
• Willing and able to work an 8-hour rotating shift that includes holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• Proficiency with a computer (Word, Excel).
• Must pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain control of the conversion of caprolactam through hydrolysis and polycondensation, extrusion, leaching, and drying, finishing into blending and packaging.
• Monitor multiple utility systems to support operation areas.
• Watch control information and adjust equipment to meet quality standards and SOPs.
• Uphold safety standards and initiate emergency procedures when needed.
• Prevent spills and protect the environment.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist with additional duties as required.
