Job summary

Redda Group has been retained by a leading law firm to identify an Attorney for its Chemical Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated global clients on patent prosecution, due diligence, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, and strategic intellectual property counseling matters within the chemical and life sciences sectors.

The attorney will manage domestic and international patent portfolios, provide strategic IP advice, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership in a state where the firm maintains an office.
• Licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, due diligence, FTO, and IP counseling matters.
• Experience managing or supporting large client patent portfolios.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related scientific field.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support patent prosecution matters for domestic and international patent portfolios.
• Conduct due diligence reviews and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.
• Provide patent counseling and strategic intellectual property advice to clients.
• Supervise and mentor technical specialists and support staff on day-to-day matters.
• Assist with managing large global patent portfolios for high-profile clients.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to the development of IP strategies.
• Collaborate with attorneys, scientists, and clients on complex chemical and patent-related matters.
