Job summary

The MÜNZING NORTH AMERICA plant in Clover, SC is seeking a Chemical Packager for the 3rd shift to support packaging and material handling in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment. You will safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks, prepare drums and pails, complete batch paperwork, maintain clean equipment and work areas, and follow OSHA safety procedures while working as part of a team.

• High school diploma or GED required; prior shipping/material handling experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to complete forklift training.

• Self-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Chemical Packager - 3rd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Production Supervisor, and is responsible for performing all day-to-day activities involving Material Handling and Packaging functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Safely use standard forklift, pallet jack and hand cart to load, unload, and move product
• Material Handling and Packaging functions - filling, lifting, rolling and labeling drums and pails of hazardous chemicals by following detailed procedures
• Completing required paperwork for product batches
• Keep work area clean and organized and ensure equipment is kept in clean, working order
• Adhere to OSHA standards and safe work practices at all times

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, and previous experience in shipping, receiving, material handling is a must;
• preferably in a manufacturing environment in the Chemical industry
• Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training
• Basic math and computer skills
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and Safe Work procedures
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers and supervisors
• Self-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision, be highly motivated, and enjoy working as part of a team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to work an eight (8) hour shift in a fast paced, chemical manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required
• Must have the ability to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and frequently walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and generally perform physically demanding tasks
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, hard hats, steel toe cap boots, and company provided uniform

  HOURS: 40 Hours, Full-time
  WORK SCHEDULE: 3rd Shift, 10:30pm - 7am, Sunday - Thursday
