Job summary

MÜNZING NORTH AMERICA in Clover, SC is seeking a Chemical Operator/Packager for the 3rd shift to support material handling and packaging of hazardous chemicals in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

The role requires forklift operation, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, adherence to OSHA and PPE procedures, and cooperative teamwork to complete batches, document paperwork, and maintain clean, orderly work areas across a full-time 10:30pm–7:00am schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; prior shipping/receiving or material handling in chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to complete forklift training.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe work procedures is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment to load/unload products.
• Handle materials and packaging tasks, including filling, labeling, and packing drums and pails.
• Complete required paperwork for product batches and maintain accurate records.
• Keep work area clean and organized; ensure equipment is in good working order.

Chemical Operator/Packer - 3rd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY:

This Chemical Operator/Packager is responsible for performing all day-to-day activities involving Material Handling and Packaging functions

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Safely use standard forklift, man-up turret forklift, pallet jack and hand cart to load, unload, and move product
• Material Handling and Packaging functions – filling, lifting, rolling and labeling drums and pails of hazardous chemicals by following detailed procedures
• Completing required paperwork for product batches
• Keep work area clean and organized and ensure equipment is kept in clean, working order
• Adhere to OSHA standards and safe work practices at all times

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, and previous experience in shipping, receiving, material handling is a must; preferably in a manufacturing warehouse environment in the Chemical industry
• Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training
• Basic math and computer skills
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and Safe Work procedures
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers and supervisors
• Self-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision, be highly motivated, and enjoy working as part of a team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Ability to work an eight (8) hour shift in a fast paced, chemical manufacturing warehouse environment. Overtime may be required
• Must have the ability to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and frequently walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and generally perform physically demanding tasks
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, hard hats, steel toe cap boots, and company provided uniform
