The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, contributing to the Group's transformation. It focuses on developing new solutions with high technological content, including digital and IT innovations. IDD comprises over 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities across 60 sites.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Global Markets & Technologies (GM&T) World Business Unit provides solutions supporting energy transition, maritime logistics, and scientific exploration, aiming to accelerate Air Liquide's sustainable growth. Our Newport Operations Group seeks a Chemical Operator to operate production and testing equipment on a 12-hour shift, reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor. Responsibilities
  • Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment according to procedures, including programmable logic control devices.
  • Follow specifications, work instructions, recipes, and procedures to produce specific products complying with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Perform complex liquid/chemical batch manufacturing and manage various production machines.
  • Work in C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, handling hazardous materials and solvents.
  • Monitor and control process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
  • Route product samples for quality control inspections as per procedure.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and computer issues, involving experts as needed.
Safety and Environmental Standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Contribute to safety improvement programs.
  • Adhere to all company policies related to safety, quality, attendance, and conduct.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., or 10 years related manufacturing experience.
  • At least 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in C1D1 and C1D2 explosion-proof environments handling hazardous materials.
  • Proficient in written communication, computer skills, and MS Office.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (2-3 hours) and work in shifts with occasional overtime.
  • Attention to detail, good judgment, manual dexterity, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Deep understanding of chemical processes and equipment, with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Job Grade: Hourly-7; Hourly rate in DE: $25.75.
