Job summary

NEXPERA in Darrow, LA is seeking a Chemical Operator for day shift to monitor and operate plant equipment, ensuring safety and quality. You will follow SOPs, perform basic maintenance, and participate in emergency procedures while supporting continuous plant operations.

The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing, ability to lift 50 lbs, and readiness for rotating shifts including nights and weekends. Training and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to navigate MS Office and Google Suite and learn new computer systems and software.
• Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including overtime, nights, weekends and short notice.
• Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs; work in high hazard environments; wear PPE as required.
• Willing and able to acquire boiler license and forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down plant systems and components (normal and emergency).
• Operate, monitor and control plant systems; visually inspect equipment and conditions.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance by isolating, clearing and locking out.
• Troubleshoot equipment to restore normal operation and analyze charts/logs for issues.
• Train new operators and participate in safety/environmental initiatives.
• Perform loading/unloading of railcars and tanks; conduct laboratory analysis.
