Job summary

NEXPERA is seeking a Chemical Operator for the Fort Hill Site in North Bend, OH. The role involves monitoring and operating plant equipment, ensuring quality and SOP compliance, and upholding safety standards across control room, lab, and field operations.

The Fort Hill facility is PS M-regulated and produces sulfuric acid; products are shipped by rail, tank trucks, and totes. Strong mechanical aptitude and safety-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability and willingness to obtain boiler license in the State of Ohio.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., perform physical tasks including climbing ladders/stairs, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and call-ins).
• Experience with SAP or similar manufacturing software.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, technical manuals and safety documentation, schematics.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment and monitor/ control operations.
• Follow SOPs, safety procedures, and perform equipment isolation and lockout.
• Train new operators and participate in boiler operations.
• Start up and shut down plant systems (normal and emergency).
• Troubleshoot and restore equipment, analyze logs for issues.
• Load/unload railcars, tank trucks, and totes.
• Conduct laboratory analysis of product samples.
