GFS Chemicals in Columbus, OH is hiring a Chemical Operator for the Organic Division on 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role involves manufacturing chemicals, operating reactors, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage, shift differential, and opportunities to learn multiple work centers. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years in industrial manufacturing, preferably with hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of prior industrial/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with hazardous chemicals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture products as directed by management and chemical preps.
• Load reactors, run reactions, unload reactors & dryers, coordinate with distillation and quality control, and package finished product.
• Follow safety protocols and all environmental regulations for chemical waste disposal.
• Perform routine housekeeping to maintain a clean, organized work area.
• May perform minor maintenance repairs and routine inspections.
• Record and maintain accurate production documentation: batch records, log books, equipment performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement, suggesting and implementing process improvements.
• Operate automation control system to start, transfer, and complete chemical processes; monitor flow, pH, temperature and volume; respond to alarms.
