Job summary

SurTec Inc., a Freudenberg Group company, is seeking a Chemical Operator in Romeo, MI to participate in packaging chemical specialty products and to follow strict safety and quality procedures.

You will prepare equipment and samples, operate material handling tools, and help document and label waste containers while maintaining organized batches and clean work areas. This role supports global surface treatment operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to make gross or fine adjustments to parts, machines or controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pumping equipment, containers, and samples of both hazardous and non-hazardous products while following all safety precautions and procedures.
• Operate a hi-lo to move materials.
• Begin compounding production batches after proficiency in packaging materials.
• Document contents of waste totes/drums; ensure containers are sampled, stored and labeled correctly.
• Maintain all relevant batch processing instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Experience using and managing inventory management systems.

Chemical Operator

Responsibilities

• Prepare pumping equipment, containers, and samples of both hazardous and non-hazardous products while following all safety precautions and procedures.
• Operate a hi-lo to facilitate the movement of materials.
• Once proficiency is proven in the packaging of materials, the incumbent will begin compounding production batches.
• Document pertinent information for the contents of each waste tote and/or drum; ensure each container is sampled, stored, and labeled correctly noting distinction between waste types.
• Maintain all relevant batch processing instructions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean, orderly work environment
• Experience using and managing inventory management systems

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Ability to make gross or fine adjustments to parts, machines, vehicles or controls that require coordinating fine or gross finger or hand movement with visual information.
