Job summary

SurTec Inc. in Romeo, MI, part of the Freudenberg Group, is seeking a Chemical Operator to package and sample chemical specialty products while following safety, housekeeping, formulation and quality procedures to maximize output.

The role involves preparing pumping equipment and containers, operating a hi-lo to move materials, and, once proficient, beginning production batches. You will document waste tote contents, ensure proper labeling, and maintain a clean, organized work area with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Good computer skills are required.
• Ability to make gross or fine adjustments to parts, machines, vehicles or controls that require coordinating fine or gross finger or hand movement with visual information.

Responsibilities

• Package and sample chemical products following safety, housekeeping, formulation and quality procedures.
• Operate a hi-lo to move materials and assist in production flow.
• Begin compounding production batches once proficiency is proven in packaging materials.
• Document contents of waste totes and drums; ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Maintain relevant batch processing instructions and keep a clean, orderly workspace.
• Assist with inventory management and ensure accurate record-keeping.
