Job summary

PPG is seeking a Chemical Operator in Atlanta, GA to support production with safe handling of chemicals and strict quality control. The role requires compliance with Haz Com and the ability to work a 1st shift and lift up to 50 pounds.

The position involves setting up, filling, mixing and delivering production chemicals, reading work orders, and performing basic TPM maintenance on equipment. Training and certifications are required for respirator use and forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
• Must be able to be certified/pass a medical test to wear a respirator.
• Must be able to pass a basic math test.
• Must be able to be certified as a forklift driver.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions include setting up, filling, mixing and/or delivering production chemicals used in a manufacturing or process area where accuracy of chemical composition is important (e.g., wafer, ink toner, media) in process operation.
• Reads and comprehends from written and verbal instructions on work orders (after trained).
• Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids per the understanding of Haz Com training .
• Performs basic maintenance (TPM) of production equipment, cleans pots and tanks for production.
• May be required to assist in chemical spills.
