Job summary

Thatcher Company of New York is seeking qualified Manufacturing and Truck Loader Operator on 2nd Shift to work in our Williamson, NY facility. The role involves loading and unloading tanks and moving trailers around the plant, with responsibility for operating plant equipment and ensuring safety.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English for safety and daily operations, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Pay is competitive, $23-$27 per hour, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Desire and demonstrated ability to work safely and promote safe work practices.
• Be quality conscious in daily operations.
• Capable of reading, writing, speaking and understanding English well for safety and operations.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions in detail and learn new skills with experience.
• Willing to work in extreme temperatures and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must be able to wear PPE including gloves, boots, safety glasses, hard hat and full-face respirator if required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload tanks, rail cars, tanker trailers and other containers.
• Operate commercial yard trucks to move trailers around the plant.
• Understand and operate plant equipment and processes.
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Operate pumps and loading equipment and forklifts.
• Work a Swing Shift, Monday to Friday.

Major Accountabilities

• Load and unload tanks, rail cars, tanker trailers, and all other containers
• Operate commercial yard trucks to move trailers around the plant. Experience preferred but not required.
• Understand and operate plant equipment and processes
• Regularly lift 50 pounds
• Operate pumpsand loading equipment
• Operate forklift
• Swing Shift M-F

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language well for safety and operations
• Aptitude to follow written and verbal instructions in detail and learn additional skills with experience.
• Capacity to work in extreme conditions (temperature) and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, including the use of tools and equipment, is preferred.
• Ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves and boots, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, full-face respirator (if required), and chemical splash suit (overalls and jacket).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
