Job summary

Carus-Group in Belmont, NC is seeking a Chemical Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead daily plant operations, ensure safety, quality, and production performance, and develop a high-performing team.

Reporting to the Phosphates Plant Manager, you will coordinate maintenance, drive continuous improvement, and mentor technicians, with exposure to maintenance, quality, engineering, and leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree related to chemical manufacturing or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in chemical manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; problem-solving ability.
  • Experience leading safe work practices and EH&S compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and plant systems/databases; able to manage initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily plant operations to achieve safety, quality, production, and reliability objectives.
  • Develop and coach Phosphates Technicians to build a skilled, engaged workforce.
  • Champion safety, environmental, and compliance initiatives through training, audits, and investigations.
  • Drive operational excellence by monitoring performance, identifying root causes, and implementing improvements.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities, capital projects, equipment commissioning, and cross-functional initiatives.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Phosphates Plant Manager, the Phosphates Production Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations while developing a high-performing team and delivering production results.

  • Lead daily plant operations to achieve safety, quality, production, and reliability objectives.
  • Develop, coach, and support Phosphates Technicians to build a skilled, engaged, and accountable workforce.

  • Drive operational excellence by monitoring plant performance, identifying root causes, and implementing process improvements that reduce downtime and loss.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities, capital projects, equipment commissioning, and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen plant performance.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The right candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader who combines strong operational expertise with a safety-first mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing people and improving processes.

What you bring:

  • Technical degree related to chemical manufacturing or equivalent chemical manufacturing experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading safe work practices and driving EH&S compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to work within plant systems and operational databases.
  • Experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, or reliability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of RCMS, ISO, quality systems, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, equipment commissioning, or production trials.
