Job summary

Commonwealth Sciences, Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Chemical Engineer to lead development and scale-up of chemical processes from lab to pilot and continuous manufacturing.

You will design, size, and select process equipment, create P&IDs and PFDs, and perform process calculations to optimize performance. Collaborating with R&D, engineering and manufacturing teams, you will troubleshoot, support pilot operations, and develop SOPs and control strategies to smoothly transition processes into

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience with process development, scale-up, and pilot/continuous manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with chemical processing equipment, P&IDs, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of reaction engineering, heat/mass transfer, fluid mechanics, and separations.
• Experience with HAZOP/FMEA and process safety.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
