Job summary

Chemours International Operations Sàrl is seeking a Chemical Engineer Co-op based in Fayetteville, NC. In this position, you will work directly with the Manufacturing Technology Manager and engineering professionals to gain hands-on experience in a chemical plant.

Your responsibilities will include participating in process improvement activities, troubleshooting, and contributing to team initiatives. You are expected to engage in a full-time schedule, exceeding 40 hours per week, and commit for at least 6 months.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled as a Sophomore or above in a Chemical Engineering program, with familiarity in essential Microsoft applications.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Sophomore or above at time of assignment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Work with experienced engineering professionals on improvement and expansion projects.
  • Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Participate in process safety management activities.

Chemical Engineer Co‑op – Manufacturing Technology Team (Fayetteville, NC)

Job Summary

The Chemical Engineer Co‑op reports directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager and works closely with Technology and Operations teams to gain hands‑on experience in a chemical plant. Responsibilities include participating in process improvement, troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, process safety activities, and contributing to team meetings and vendor collaborations.

Responsibilities
  • Work with experienced engineering professionals on improvement and expansion projects
  • Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and problem solving
  • Participate in process safety management activities and reviews
  • Contribute to team meetings and conference calls
  • Implement process improvements through a management of change process
  • Collaborate with external vendors to specify new and replacement equipment
Required Qualifications
  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Sophomore or above at time of assignment
  • Enrollment toward an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
  • Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Strong initiative and self‑starter attitude
