Job summary

The Chemours Company is seeking a Chemical Engineer Co-op for the New Johnsonville plant to contribute to hands-on projects and real-time engineering work. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on process improvement, troubleshooting, safety management, and effective communication during team meetings and conference calls.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a rising sophomore or above at the time of assignment.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 3.0 GPA or above.

Job Summary

This position is a Chemical Engineer Co‑op at the New Johnsonville plant, reporting directly to the Engineering Supervisor. The role involves hands‑on projects, real‑time engineering work, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The co‑op will contribute to process improvement, troubleshooting, safety management, and team communication.

Location & Schedule

New Johnsonville, TN
Regular full‑time schedule of 40 hours per week

Term

Preferred first term: May–Aug 2024. Candidates must commit to a total of at least six (6) months, with the possibility of multiple terms.

Responsibilities
  • Work with experienced engineering professionals on improvement and expansion projects.
  • Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and problem solving.
  • Participate in process safety management activities and reviews.
  • Contribute to team meetings and conference calls.
Required Qualifications
