Job summary

Chemours is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-op to join the Advanced Performance Materials team. This position reports directly to the Production Leader and is based in Deepwater, NJ.

The role involves hands-on analysis, failure investigations, and participation in process safety activities within a manufacturing environment. The co-op requires enrollment as a Sophomore or higher and pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with proficiency in Word, Excel,

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Position Summary

Chemours is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co‑op to join the Advanced Performance Materials team. This position reports directly to the Production Leader.

Location

Deepwater, NJ

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week.

Term

First term: August‑December 2024. Candidates must commit to at least six (6) months as a co‑op; multiple terms may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzing equipment performance and recommending improvement plans.
  • Conducting failure analysis investigations.
  • Participating in process safety management activities.
  • Contributing to team meetings and conference calls.
  • Facilitating Management of Change and other Process Safety documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Sophomore or above at the time of assignment.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom.
  • 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Relevant prior experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
