Job summary

Engineering Resource Group, Inc. seeks a Chemical Engineer for a long-term contract role focused on capital projects upgrading process plant equipment.

You will lead external design teams on large projects, prepare bid packages, and develop scope of work, risks and schedules. Responsibilities include obtaining bids, managing a $4–5MM annual project portfolio, and applying knowledge of P&IDs, storage tanks and pumps.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of capital project management experience for process plant equipment.
• Experience with bids, pricing, scope of work, risks, budgeting, scheduling, execution and close-out.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects for process plant equipment upgrades and improvements.
• Obtain bids and pricing on services and BOM items; develop submittal documents and scopes of work.
• Manage multiple projects, typically $4–5MM annually, coordinating external design teams.

Job description

• Long term contract position for Chemical Engineer - Capital Projects for capital equipment upgrades and improvements in a manufacturing plant.
• Project design for a wide range of projects and ability to lead external design teams on larger projects.
• Obtain bids and pricing on services and BOM items.
• Create project submittal documents, scope of work for process equipment including reactors; cost savings calculations; project scopes, project risks, assumptions, and alternatives.
• Utilize project management / project scheduling software.
• Expected to manage at least $4-5MM in projects per year and multiple projects at the same time.
• BS in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years experience managing capital projects for process plant equipment (food or beverage preferred).
• Experience in P&IDs, storage tanks, pumps, and other chemical process equipment preferred.
• Must have experience in capital project engineering including bids/pricing, scope of work, risks, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and close-out.
