Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement across production operations in Missouri. The role focuses on reducing waste, accelerating throughput, lowering costs, and ensuring safety and compliance through Lean and Six Sigma approaches.

The candidate will analyze processes, develop scalable chemical process improvements, and lead root-cause investigations while collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, maintenance, quality, regulatory, and EHS teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required; master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in process engineering or manufacturing.
  • Experience applying Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Willingness to travel ~25% to support two locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, remove bottlenecks, improve throughput, lower costs, and enhance safety across production operations
  • Analyze manufacturing processes using Lean, Six Sigma, statistical tools, and chemical engineering principles to identify and implement sustainable improvements
  • Develop, scale, and refine chemical process improvements to support robust, efficient, and compliant manufacturing performance
  • Lead root cause investigations related to quality deviations, process issues, and equipment failures, recommending corrective and preventive actions
  • Provide advanced technical support for new equipment selection, trials, commissioning, and process implementation
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, maintenance, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and EHS teams to support product integrity, audits, inspections, and safe production practices

Job description

Requirements

  • Experience applying Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with statistical tools and data-driven process improvement methods is a plus
  • Experience in pesticides, specialty chemicals, regulated manufacturing, or similar production environments preferred
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% to support improvement initiatives across two locations
