JM Eagle in Ashtabula, OH seeks a Chemical Engineer to develop and design equipment for manufacturing chemistry-related products. You will optimize production using chemistry, physics, and engineering principles, leveraging computer tools to enhance research and manufacturing performance.
The role involves designing process systems, planning measurement/control strategies, evaluating unit operations, and supporting process improvement. Strong MS Office and CAD skills are required.
The Chemical Engineer develops and designs equipment for manufacturing chemical and related products utilizing principles and technology of chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering, and related physical and natural sciences utilizing computer technology to optimize all phases of research and production.
This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibility. This position may remotely supervise projects and key personnel.

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, material science or chemistry from a four-year college or technical school; or a degree and one year related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be proficient with MS Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. In addition, must have working knowledge of Adobe PDF documents and CAD software package.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to clearly communicate technical related subject matters both written and oral. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to management.
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graph, etc.) in the most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to review technical requirements from multiple sources and synthesize into reports, specifications, procedures, etc.
