Job summary

Emerson is seeking an undergraduate chem engineering or chemistry student to contribute to sensor design projects and conduct laboratory experiments in Minnesota. You will own project segments, develop test plans, and document findings for leadership.

You will work full-time in person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN) with collaboration across engineers, chemists, technicians, and manufacturing personnel, while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or chemistry
• 0 years of related professional experience
• Willingness to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person in the Twin Cities area (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Own a defined design project or project segment and contribute to sensor design development
• Design and execute laboratory experiments and evaluations to characterize performance
• Develop test plans and propose design approaches for investigations
• Analyze data and translate findings into design recommendations
• Document results in technical reports and presentations
• Source materials or equipment to support objectives
• Collaborate with engineers, chemists, technicians, and manufacturing personnel
• Support test solution preparation and lab setup
• Maintain laboratory safety and follow procedures
• Support additional technical initiatives as needed
