Job summary

Emerson in Shakopee, MN is seeking an Electrical Engineer (BSE) to launch a successful engineering career within the R&D department. You will work across product development, testing, manufacturing and supply chain to design, develop, and support Liquid Analysis products.

This role blends cross-functional collaboration, hands-on electronics work, and design verification. You will learn circuit design, PCB layout, and lab measurements, participate in design reviews, and contribute to cost

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
  • 0–4 years of experience in electronics
  • Experience with electronics fundamentals and lab tools
  • Knowledge developing circuits with schematic capture and board layout

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth experience in technology related to design and development of Emerson’s Liquid Analysis products.
  • Support design, development and testing activities within cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and test engineering groups.
  • Train to utilize electrical design tools for capturing schematics, PCB layouts, and simulations.
  • Perform electronics design verification testing and demonstrate designs meet specifications and customer needs.
  • Facilitate design reviews and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Perform a variety of electronic measurements using standard lab equipment.
  • Perform statistical analysis of lab test results and report findings to peers.
  • Troubleshoot Emerson systems and circuits to a functional block or component level.
  • Periodically support global electronics manufacturing by improving designs and processes.

If you are an Electrical Engineering graduate (BSE) and a natural born leader looking for an opportunity to launch a successful engineering career, Emerson has an exciting role for you! Based at our Shakopee, MN location, you will work directly within the R&D department and play a significant role in the development of our next generation of sensor products as well as improving existing products. This is a unique engineering role that requires working cross-functionally with all aspects of product development engineering, product test, manufacturing and supply chain. You will be trained and participate in the design, development, and support of Emerson’s Liquid Analysis products.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Develop in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to the design and development of Emerson’s Liquid Analysis products.

  • Directly support design, development and continuation electrical engineering activities within cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and test engineering groups.

  • Train to utilize electrical design and development tools used in capturing circuit design schematics, laying out printed circuit boards, and performing circuit simulations.

  • Perform electronics design verification testing activities and provide evidence to engineering peers that designs meet or exceed specification requirements and customers’ needs.

  • Facilitate design reviews and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Perform a variety of electronic measurements using common laboratory equipment.
  • Perform statistical analysis of laboratory test results and report findings to engineering peers.
  • Troubleshoot Emerson systems and electronic circuits to a functional block or component level.

  • Periodically support global electronics circuit card manufacturing and global product manufacturing by improving product designs, streamlining manufacturing processes, reducing manufacturing costs, and improving quality.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school
  • Zero (0) to Four (4) years of experience
  • Working knowledge and understanding of electronics fundamentals
  • Basic knowledge and competency using standard engineering laboratory tools and instruments
  • Basic knowledge developing electronic circuits using schematic capture, simulation, and board layout tools
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience with Labview and Allegro / Cadence tools

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $80,000-$105,000annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
