Job summary

Paradise Valley Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team and support the Chemical Dependency Program. You will coordinate and implement program activities, provide direct patient services, and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure quality care.

Ideal candidates hold an AA/BA degree with chemical dependency experience; CADAC certification is preferred, along with 2+ years in psychiatric or chemical dependency settings, experience

Qualifications

• AA/BA degree with Chemical Dependency experience preferred.
• Certification with State or National CADAC Board preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in psychiatric, chemical dependency or residential treatment facility preferred.
• Experience counseling chemically dependent adults and their family members and/or significant others.
• Working knowledge of the 12-Step Program.
• Current BCLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the coordination and implementation of the hospital Chemical Dependency Program, and to provide direct services to patients and their families.
• Performs treatment coordination duties for assigned patients in the Program.
• Regular liaison with members of the treatment team and discharge planning and aftercare follow-up.
• Marketing with community agencies and professionals.
• Document clinical assessments and treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement Program pursuant to specifications of monitoring devices.
