Job summary

Del Amo Behavioral Health System in Torrance, CA seeks a Chemical Dependency Counselor to join a multidisciplinary treatment team.

You will manage treatment for chemically dependent patients from early intake through continuing care, delivering individual, group, and conjoint counseling and education programs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred in chemical dependency education.
• 1–3 years clinical experience in psychiatric settings preferred.
• Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse.

Responsibilities

• The Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for treatment management of the chemically dependent patient and family from initial phases through continuing care.
• Must be knowledgeable in counseling theory, technique, and practice within chemical dependency and provide individual, group, and conjoint counseling.

The Chemical Dependency (CD) Counselor is responsible for providing treatment management, in conjunction with the treatment team, of the chemically dependent patient and family from the initial phases of treatment through continuing care. Must be knowledgeable in the theory, technique, and practice of counseling within this specialty and utilize this expertise in providing individual group, and conjoint counseling, as well as delivering program content such as education and specialty groups.

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree Preferred.

Graduate or equivalent from an accredited program of chemical dependency education.

Experience: 1 - 3 years Clinica experience in psychiatric setting preferred.

Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse.
