Job summary

Ridgeview Institute Monroe is seeking a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join its team in Monroe, GA. This full-time role focuses on addressing bio-psychosocial needs, providing crisis intervention, social work services, and family therapy within hospital guidelines.

The position requires licensure in substance abuse, a related bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), and experience with dual diagnosis and 12-step programs. Benefits are provided for full-time staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or related field preferred; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse.
  • Must possess substance abuse license/certificate as dictated by the State of Georgia or equivalent; Master’s License in Social Work or Counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to obtain substance abuse history.
  • Document findings in Dual Diagnosis portion of integrated assessment within 72 hours of admission.
  • Document updates when there are significant changes in patient condition or readmission in the last 30 days.
  • Communicate findings in progress notes in a clear, complete and timely manner.
  • Formulate a plan of care based on the interdisciplinary assessments within established hospital guidelines.
  • Ensure treatment plans include specific measurable goals/objectives/interventions and defining actions unique to each patient's needs and personal goals.
  • Update and revise plans as goals are met or patients' condition changes.
  • Communicate on a regular and timely basis with relevant members of the treatment team.

As a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, you will play a vital role in our mission to address the bio-psychosocial needs of our patients. Your responsibilities will include offering basic consultation, delivering specialized clinical social work services, crisis intervention, and conducting short-term and long-term family therapy.

Your Experience Matters What We’re Looking For

Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or related field preferred; Master’s Degree preferred.


Experience

Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse.


License:

Must possess substance abuse license/certificate as dictated by the State of Georgia or equivalent, also Master’s License in Social Work or Counseling preferred.

Compensation
